Sekhukhune United are in talks with Mamelodi Sundowns over the potential signing of Siphesihle Mkhize ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Mkhize, 24, looked set to join Cape Town Spurs on loan but the deal fell through and Sekhukhune have now emerged as favourites for his signature.
Mkhize spent the last two seasons on loan at Chippa United, where he excelled in the top flight and previously had a stint with Ajax Cape Town in the 2019/20 season.
The South Africa youth international is highly regarded but the presence of Teboho Mokoena, Bongani Zungu, Sipho Mbule and Sammy Seabi at Chloorkop meant his chances of first-team football would have been limited.
Babina Noko, who ironically had the latter on loan last season are now in advanced talks to bring Mkhize on board, where he’s likely to serve as an understudy to Kamohelo Mokotjo and push for a spot in the first eleven as they compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
