Promising Stellenbosch duo Fuad Johnson and Antonio Van Wyk have left South Africa to undergo trials in Belgium.
Johnson, 19, has been long touted as a future star and has been one of the standout players for the DStv Diski Challenge leaders this season.
The forward has made four appearances for the Stellies first-team and handed landed an assessment with Royal Antwerp, the same club Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bontle Molefe will be training with this month.
Meanwhile, Van Wyk, 20, has equally been impressive in the reserve league since joining the club from Ubuntu Cape Town, while he’s made 11 first-team appearances with two assists to his name.
Despite his slender frame, Van Wyk has impressed in his attacking midfield role and out wide and is one of the more technically gifted talents that’s emerged from the club over the past few seasons.
He will be spending a couple of weeks at Proximus League champions Westerlo, where another Chiefs youngster Mduduzi Shabalala joined up for a trial too last week.
Lyle Foster won the league and promotion to the Belgian top-flight with the club – who are now expected to land him on a permanent deal after impressing during his season-long loan from Victoria Guimaraes.
