Stellies Wrap Up Fourth Signing & More To Come

Stellenbosch FC have wrapped up the signing of highly-rated winger Nhlanhla Mgaga from Baroka after their relegation.

Mgaga, 26, was on the periphery of the Baroka squad during their 2021/22 campaign but the ambitious DStv Premiership club identified him as a key target that could bolster their attacking options.

He reunites with defender Vusi Sibiya at the Steve Barker’s outfit ahead of next season and becomes the fourth signing after 24-year-old DR Congo winger William Likuta from DC Motema Pembe and 22-year-old forward Sinethemba Mngomezulu from TS Galaxy.

As reported in iDiski Times Edition 58, Stellies were closing in on the signing of Mgaga on a three-year contract, while Orlando Pirates playmaker Collins Makgaga is another shortlisted target that has long caught the eye of their technical team.

A box-to-box midfielder and another centre-back are also in talks with the club ahead of the 2022/23 season with Stellies threatening to build a squad capable of building on their success of a record fourth-place finish in the top flight, despite losing two of their key figures; captain Zitha Kwinika and Ashley Du Preez to Kaizer Chiefs.

Mgaga is likely to face stiff competition from academy graduate Jayden Adams, who recently underwent a training assessment at Swedish top-flight side Varbergs BoiS and was included in the preliminary COSAFA Cup squad.
