Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that they are leaving Johannesburg today at midday to travel to Morocco for Saturday’s CAF Champions League final, with Stuart Baxter pictured among the traveling group.
The Glamour Boys will feature in their first ever CAF Champions League final on Saturday, at 21:00, with the game being shown on SuperSport.
Chiefs posted some pictures of their departure from OR Tambo on their social media channels, without giving further details of their traveling squad.
However, Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa has confirmed that all players will travel to Casablanca, even the ones who had expiring contracts by the of June.
Maphosa also confirmed last week that the club had “worked out something” with the players in question in order for everyone to be available for the trip.
The deals of Bernard Parker, Itumeleng Khune, Willard Katsande, Bruce Bvuma, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Khama Billiat, Lebogang Manyama and Kgotso Moleko had all expired by the end of June
Head coach Stuart Baxter is also part of the traveling squad to Morocco, but Amakhosi are yet to confirm whether he has received his work permit on time to be on the sidelines or whether he will watch the game from the stands as he had done during the semi-finals.
