Ex-EPL Player Slams ‘Trouble Maker’ Zungu
Former Premier League player Paddy Kenny has slammed Bongani Zungu, saying Rangers ‘will be happy to see the back of the trouble maker’.
The midfielder’s time at the Scottish champions seems to be coming to an end after Amiens manager Oswald Tanchot stated he expects Zungu to return to the French side next season.
Zungu had written headlines for the wrong reasons earlier this campaign after he was part of five players who breached COVID-19 protocols by attending a party in February.
Kenny, who played in the Premier League for Sheffield United and Queens Park Rangers, has now come out and slated the Bafana Bafana international, insisting Rangers will not miss him.
“They’ll definitely be glad to see the back of him. He’s a trouble maker, I think,” he told Football Insider.
“They have done so well this season under Steven Gerrard with the discipline they’ve got there.
“After all that happened earlier in the year, it’s best to start afresh, in my opinion.
“When you’ve just won the league, why would you want someone like him at the club anyway?
“He’s not even their player and he’s only on loan. So you may as well send him back, cut your losses and move on.”
Zungu has made 20 appearances on loan at Rangers, but played just 20 minutes across five substitute appearances since the breaking COVID-19 rules.
