Al Ahly Head Coach Pitso Mosimane has praised his team’s character after they finished third in the FIFA Club World Cup.
While Bayern beat Tigres 1-0 in the final, Ahly had to get through a penalty shoot-out against Palmeiras, after it ended goalless after 90 minutes.
“When you face Bayern Munich, things are not easy, and we must be modest, but now the situation is different. I thank the players and Mohamed El-Shennawy for saving the penalties and clinching the bronze medal,” Mosimane said the penalty shoot-out win.
“Next week we have to repeat this performance in the CAF Champions League and forget what we did here in the Club World Cup.”
“I think we fought fiercely. Yes, we were not the strongest team in the tournament, but we showed character and fighting during our matches.”
