Official: Ronaldo Completes Man Utd Transfer

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially completed his sensational return to Manchester United, the club confirmed on Monday.

The Premier League club had announced Ronaldo’s much-celebrated homecoming on Friday after a turbulent few hours saw United hijack his move to rivals Manchester City.

Ronaldo still had to agree personal terms and pass his medical but all the admin is now done after he put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

“Manchester United is delighted to confirm the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo on a two-year contract with the option to extend for a further year, subject to international clearance,” the club said in a statement.

Coach Ole Gunner Solskjaer added: “You run out of words to describe Cristiano. He is not only a marvellous player, but also a great human being. To have the desire and the ability to play at the top level for such a long period requires a very special person. I have no doubt that he will continue to impress us all and his experience will be so vital for the younger players in the squad. Ronaldo’s return demonstrates the unique appeal of this club and I am absolutely delighted he is coming home to where it all started.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is understood to earn £540 000 per week at Old Trafford, making him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

United are believed to have paid €15 million to Juventus, and could transfer €8 million based on performance-related bonuses.
