All Confirmed January Deals In The DStv Prem

The January transfer window came to a close at midnight on Monday, and once again it was DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns who dominated the window’s headlines.

Sundowns may be 14 points clear at the top of the league, but that hasn’t stopped them from strengthening with two of the country’s best performers joining the Chloorkop team. It may not have been cheap, but they’ve done good business to pry away Teboho Mokoena from SuperSport United and Surprise Ralani from Cape Town City.

While there may still be announcements, it was a relatively quiet window for the other big teams, with no new signings announced by Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates.

Royal AM confirming they’ve released fifteen players probably makes them the ‘busiest’ team in the window.

SuperSport’s sale of Mokoena to Sundowns may have been the most expensive, but John Comitis’ Cape Town City sold four players this window – Ralani to Sundowns, Abbubaker Mobara to AmaZulu, Abdul Ajagun to Sudanese club Al-Hilal, and Fagrie Lakay to Pyramids FC in Egypt.

The latest signing was announced by Golden Arrows, who picked up Sera Motebang after he had been one of the players released by Royal AM last week.
