Banyana Beat Zambia In Friendly

Banyana Banyana picked up a good 3-1 win over Zambia in an international friendly on Saturday afternoon at Wits Stadium.

Barbara Banda gave the visitors the lead in the 17th minute, when her long range effort flew into the goal.

Banyana were level in the 40th minute when Noko Matlou headed in from a Gabriela Salgado corner.

Two minutes later Banyana were in front as Matlou added her second, this time assisted by Thembi Kgatlana.

Desiree Ellis’ team lead 2-1 at halftime.

It was 3-1 in the 54th minute as Kgatlana got herself on the scoresheet. She could’ve had a second ten minutes later, but was denied by the crossbar. 

Banyana are back in friendly action next week when they take on Botswana in three days.
