Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has slammed Goodman Mosele for going AWOL and not pitching up to the national team camp.
Bafana confirmed on Monday that Jesse Donn replaced Mosele after the Orlando Pirates didn’t pitch up for the camp ahead of the double header against Ethiopia.
Broos says they tried to contact the in-form Bucs midfielder, but to no avail – a situation that left him angry.
“I’m not disappointed, I’m very angry,” Broos told Bafana’s media department.
“I don’t understand the player who can have his first cap for the national team of his country that he doesn’t even come to the camp.
“He didn’t even call us, we don’t know why he is not coming.
“I can understand that the player maybe don’t want to play for Bafana, but then he tells me that and I have to respect that.
“Everybody is free to decide whether they want to play or not but we didn’t hear nothing from him. We tried to reach him, he is unreachable.
“So I’m very unhappy with a player who can be an international player for his country.”
Bafana face Ethiopia away from on Saturday, 9 October before hosting them in South Africa three days later on 12 October.
