Confirmed: City Sign Ralani Replacement

Cape Town City have completed the signing of Darwin González as the replacement for Bradley Ralani, iDiski Times can confirm.

City have cashed in on Ralani in a reported R4-million deal while Fagrie Lakay is also set for a move to Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids.

The 26-year-old González is set to join as a free agent after leaving Deportivo La Guaira in December just 10 months into his second stint.

Prior to his stint at the Venezuelan side with whom he’s scored 31 goals and registered 12 assists in 108 games, he spent time in North Africa with Etoile Du Sahel.

Having won the top scorer award in the Venezuelan top flight in the 2017/18 season with 18 goals – the Tunisian side forked out close to €500,000 to land his services and he featured in both the CAF Confederation Cup and Champions League.

Strong in possession and blessed with searing pace, González provides something different from Ralani and is likely to provide a new dimension to the City attack in the second half of the DStv Premiership season.

Jordan Bender, has also been linked with a move to the Citizens, with iDiski Times confirming his presence at the club earlier this month.

Eric Tinkler’s side look set for a rebuild having allowed five senior players depart in the January window.
