Orlando Pirates Assistant Coach Fadlu Davids says Mamelodi Sundowns are not a Pitso Mosimane team anymore, and they play a different structure under Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena.
Davids was speaking ahead of Saturday’s DSTV Premiership game between Pirates and Sundowns at Loftus Stadium.
The former Maritzburg United Coach says that while Sundowns start as favourites, Pirates are up for the challenge and ready to compete.
“We are quietly confident in our preparations leading up to the big game against Sundowns away from home at Loftus,” Davids told the club’s media department.
“We are ready for the challenge, we know they’re the favourites, they are leading the log, and it’s our job to try close the gap.”
“You can see it’s not a Pitso Mosimane team, they’ve completely changed the structure, they’ve completely changed the principles of play. It’s a new team, new ways of playing, and we have to be prepared for it.”
“Yes, we have to take care of their structures, but more importantly execute our game plan, execute our way of playing.”
