While there has been a lot of transfer talk about potential moves in domestic football during this transfer window, a prominent agent says it’s all speculation.
Speaking anonymously to iDiski Times, the agent says he has read media reports about a number of his clients making moves this January, but quickly dismissed most of the stories as conjecture.
“Don’t expect major moves in January,” the agent told iDiski Times.
“Media keeps speculating about transfers this window, but apart from Sundowns, clubs aren’t paying transfer fees and good free agents are scarce.”
Mamelodi Sundowns are the only club to have announced a signing this window so far, having purchased Surprise Ralani from Cape Town City.
“I have read numerous reports about players, some even who I manage,” he continued.
“But most clubs aren’t willing to pay transfer fees, and as far as I know clubs haven’t even been approached, with most waiting to pounce when contracts are expiring.”
