Kaizer Chiefs defender Austin Dube haș opened up on his start at Kaizer Chiefs and also praised his newly-formed partnership with Eric Mathoho.
The 28-year-old joined Amakhosi from Richards Bay in the beginning of the season but had to bide his time before making it into Stuart Baxter’s starting XI.
Dube started the last two games but has insisted he is not where he wants to be in terms of match-fitness.
“No, I’m not yet there, I’m still going to get there,” he told the club’s media department.
“I think I still need more games to get where I want to be, to get where I used to be actually. So up to now, I think I’ve done well but I need to improve obviously.”
The tall centre-back also addressed his newly-formed partnership with Mathoho, saying the 31-year-old has helped him a lot since he arrived at the club.
“It’s been a great experience you know working alongside with Tower,” he explained.
“The experience that he has like he helps me a lot, all the centre-back’s actually, the back four defenders, working with them I learned a lot every day. So I think it’s been a great partnership.”
Finally, Dube also previewed Sunday’s clash against SuperSport United, saying they ware going for a second win in a row.
“You know like taking it from from the previous game against Chippa, we did very well.
“I think we can still improve and do much better. So going to the weekend game in Pretoria, we going for a win, we going to perform even better than the previous game.”
Chiefs currently sit in ninth place on the log, six points behind second-placed SuperSport, who are still unbeaten.
