Hunt Explains Future Of Wits Duo After Cas Ruling

Kaizer Chiefs Coach Gavin Hunt says he will have a meeting later today (Thursday) with Kaizer Chiefs Chairman Kaizer Motaung over the future of trainees Sifiso Hlanti and Phathutshedzo Nange.

The former Bidvest Wits duo had been training with Amakhosi in the hopes of signing permanent deals with the club, however, with the recent FIFA ban on Chiefs against signing players upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the players futures are up in the air.

Chiefs will not be able to sign and register new players for two consecutive transfer windows, meaning the earliest they can sign players will be in July 2021. Since the appeal decision was announced, many questions were asked about the future of the trainees who were hoping to sign for the former Coach.

Speaking to the media earlier today, Hunt revealed, “I am meeting with the Chairman about those players (Hlanti and Nange). Possibly we have to loan them out because they have not played for so long… that’s one of the options. I am not sure what he (Motaung) thinks, but we will discuss that”

Kaizer Chiefs take on Orlando Pirates in the first leg of the MTN 8 semi-final on Saturday at 3pm.
