Mngqithi Praises Ncikazi & Davids

Mamelodi Sundowns co-head coach Manqoba Mngqithi was full of praise for Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids ahead of Saturday’s match against Orlando Pirates.

The Buccaneers host the DStv Premiership champions in a league match at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

While pleased with the efforts being put in by his team at training, Mngqithi also said he has a lot of respect for Ncikazi and Davids, who he described as “creative” and “intelligent”.

“The fact that we are playing against Mandla and Fadlu, those are very creative coaches, those are very intelligent coaches,” Mngqithi told the club’s media department.

“We know they’ll bring a thing or two into the game, but we’ll profile them accordingly and see what we can get.

“The good thing is that we know almost all their players, and if we fail to deal with their strategy part, we can easily profile the individual players and understand what to expect in each and every player that they have.

“And we are confident that the team that we have, from the analysis department, the coaches that we have, and everybody else who is supporting the team behind, we will pull all the stops to get the result that we require.”

Mngqithi also insisted that his team has worked very hard in training and are ready for the clash this weekend.

“No, I must say the boys have worked very, very hard, they are giving their best shot, they are interested, their attitude in training has been exceptionally good,” he added.

“The willpower to make sure that we achieve what we want to achieve.

“And that requires a lot, because at Sundowns, you’re expected to counter press, you’re expected to break the press, you’re expected to high press, and all these are very demanding actions in the game.

“But our boys have adapted to this, because it’s something that we emphasise on a daily basis, that the intensity must always be kept at the right level.

“And from what we are seeing, we are all encouraged. And we are happy with the progress that we see.”
