Molefi Ntseki’s agent has commented on the confusion around his client’s alleged return to Bafana Bafana.
The former South Africa coach was sacked after failing to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations but only officially parted ways with SAFA last week.
Belgian tactician Hugo Broos has since replaced him as Bafana coach and the 69-year-old caused some confusion on Friday after telling SAFM radio that Ntseki will be his local assistant.
However, SAFA quickly dismissed Broos’ statement, saying “no local assistant has yet been appointed” before adding “the name making headlines [Ntseki] is NOT the Association’s position”.
Ntseki’s agent, though, has now come out and confirmed there have been talks between Broos and his client, even though no terms have been agreed yet.
“Coach Ntseki has been asked to consider assistant coach job, it was agreed both coaches will meet, which they did (twice). No terms have been agreed and confirmed,” Thato Matuka stated on twitter.
Broos initially announced that Cedomir Janevski will become his assistant coach from Europe, but he also wants to work with a South African coach.
