Bernard Parker says that the Kaizer Chiefs players are raring to go as the club begins its CAF Champions League campaign on Sunday.
Parker, speaking as the team departed the country, says it’s important for the team to start off on the right note, as they travel to Cameroon to take on PDW Bamenda in the preliminary round.
“Ah, a good feeling to be back and competing on the continent. We are at OR Tambo and looking forward to a journey, a journey that we’ve long last had, which is a Champions League journey, and exciting times going forward,” Parker said.
“I think it’s important we start our journey strong, so we can build a strong foundation and have a confident journey throughout the competition.”
“We are well aware that we are representing Kaizer Chiefs, as well as the rest of South Africa.”
“The guys are excited, and the good thing is we’ve got a few internationals in the team, who travelled in the last FIFA break, and they have tasted football beyond our borders. So it’s not a new thing, and the rest of the squad has travelled before, competing on the continent, and the guys are looking ready.”
