Pirates Aiming For More Trophies In 2021/22

Orlando Pirates have confirmed they want to challenge for all trophies that are on offer domestically this season.

The club lifted the MTN8 Cup in 2020/21 and finished in third in the DStv Premiership. Meanwhile, they got knocked out of the CAF Confederations Cup in the quarter-finals by eventual winners Raja Casablanca and lost the Nedbank Cup quarter-final to Sundowns.

However, the club wants to improve on their accolades in 2021/22 and compete for all silverware in South Africa.

“I can see that you know, the pre-season camp so far, it’s going great,” media officer, Thandi Merafe said.

“You can see the leadership from our management with all of the signings that they’ve done that the direction is clear, the mandate is clear. 

“We are Orlando Pirates, we have a rich culture of winning. And we are all about getting results. And that’s what’s being communicated from the top down. The players know what their mandate.

“We’re looking forward to a winning season and to build from the trophy that we got in in the previous season, and get more more trophies. 

“So we’re looking forward to competing in all of the of the trophies or competitions that are on offer domestically.”

The MTN8 trophy was the first the Buccaneers lifted in six years, while the club’s last league title dates back to 2011/22.
