Sekukhune Advance In CAFCC Without Playing

Sekhukhune United have advanced to the 2nd round of the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers without playing a single game.

After qualifying for CAF inter-club football by reaching the final of the Nedbank Cup, Sekuhukne were drawn against Young Buffaloes of eSwatini.

However, it became apparent the club would pull out of the competition due to a lack of funding which was communicated to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) last week.

The federation has since officially communicated to Babina Noko that the withdrawal has been made official and they are to advance to the next round.

Brandon Truter’s side will now face Linafoot side Saint Eloi Lupopo in the second round for a place in the group stages of the competition with the first leg taking place between 15 and 17 September and the return leg between 29 September and 1 October.
