Shandu Promises To Achieve ‘A Lot’ Next Season
New Orlando Pirates signing Bandile Shandu wants to make sure the Buccaneers “achieve a lot” in the upcoming season.
The 26-year-old joined Pirates after his contract with Maritzburg had come to an end, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.
Shandu said that he will try to leave his mark in an already packed Bucs midfield, before promising the club’s fans a successful 2021/22 campaign.
“It’s difficult because of the quality that Orlando Pirates has, but I’ll keep doing what’s worked for me ‘til this point,” he told the club’s media department.
“I always strive to work hard, do the basics right, and follow the Coach’s instructions. Basically, just try and add value and do whatever is required by the team to the best of my ability.
“So, I’m just willing to do that and contribute to the team’s cause, and make sure that we achieve a lot in the upcoming season.”
Shandu also says he feels humbled to play for one of the biggest clubs in South Africa.
“I’m really honoured to be playing for Orlando Pirates,” he added.
“What I can promise is that each time I’m on the pitch, I’ll always give 100% and ensure that the fans are happy.
“Pirates is a big Club – one of the biggest in South Africa. So, I’m expecting a different type of pressure.
“I know there is a demand for results, and I’m aware that I have to do my best to contribute to positive results for the team.”
Shandu is one of four signings who were announced by Pirates last week, the others being Goodman Mosele, Monnapule Saleng and Kwanda Mngonyama.
