Baroka and Stellenbosch picked up wins in Sunday’s DSTV Premiership fixtures.
TS Galaxy 0-1 Stellenbosch
Just after the half hour mark the home team were inches away from taking the leading but Strydom Wambi’s attempt struck the cross bar and bounced back into play.
Stellenbosch started to use their pacy players more in the second half, and looked more likely to score, as they began to expose Galaxy out wide.
Stellenbosch grabbed the winner in the 83rd minute when substitute Stanley Dimgba scored. The new Nigerian recruit finished with aplomb to make it 1-0.
It was Galaxy’s first defeat this season.
Baroka 2-1 Chippa United
Chippa United deservedly opened the scoring late in the first half, as Sandile Mthethwa got to the end of a Nyiko Mobbie cross.
Baroka started to get into the game a bit more in the second 45, and it paid off in the 66th minute when Evedence Makgopa found the equaliser.
And Baroka were in the lead six minutes later when Richard Mbulu finished to complete the comeback win.
Chippa were reduced to ten men with ten minutes to go, when Mdu Sibeko picked up a second yellow card.
The win takes Baroka up to third place on the table.
