Swallows and Stellenbosch couldn’t be separated as they played to a 1-1 draw at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The result sees Stellenbosch move up to third on the DStv Premiership table, while Swallows remain 13th.
There weren’t too many chances in the first half, where both sides showed glimpses of promise, but unfortunately not in the final third.
But with three minutes to go to the break Ruzaigh Gamildien put Swallows into the lead, tapping in after some good work from Tebogo Langerman down the left.
And in the 45th minute Stellenbosch were level, with Deano Van Rooyen on hand to poke home after being set up by Stanley Dimgba.
1-1 at the break, the second half followed a similar pattern, Van Rooyen trying an ambitious effort in the 55th minute, but it was off target, as was Marc Van Heerden’s attempt in the 80th minute.
Swallows had a great chance in the 87th minute to win it, but Sage Stephens pulled off a terrific save to deny substitute Kagiso Malinga, who had an unleashed a powerful chance from range.
While it was another draw for Swallows, it was the first time they found the back of the net since August.
