SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo was pleased with his team’s 3-0 DStv Premiership victory over Swallows.
It was a victory that sees SuperSport second on the table after the weekend’s results, one point behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, and ahead on goal difference from Stellenbosch and Orlando Pirates.
Tembo was pleased with his how his midfield especially performed, and the work they did in their pressing game.
“Well, I think we had a very good start, our pressing was very good, because that was a starting point,” Tembo said.
“We had to come in and make sure that we press very well, because technically they are a very good team, that plays some good football.
“We didn’t allow them to play through the centre and that because they overload the midfield with the fullbacks coming inside, so we had to work a little bit more in terms of our sliding in screening and I thought Tebza as well as Jesse, they played very well, they worked very hard and Jamie, I think Jamie was briliiant, Gabuza as well was brilliant.
“Moses started very well, I think he got tired because of lack of game time, but I thought he was he was well, he was decent.
“And scoring three goals and keeping a clean sheet especially coming to a place like this. It was a good performance. I was quote happy by the way the guys played.”
