Tembo – The Main Thing Is Work Ethic

Kaitano Tembo says his SuperSport United team needs to match the work ethic of TS Galaxy when the two teams meet at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Friday at 5pm.

SuperSport are currently second on the DStv Premiership log, three points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, but SuperSport have played three more games than their Tshwane neighbours.

It will be four games after the Galaxy match, and they cannot afford to not close the gap if they are too stay in the hunt.

But it won’t be easy against Owen Da Gama’s ever-improving Galaxy side, who became the first team in the league to beat Swallows, when they won 2-1 on Tuesday, a result that moved them into the top eight.

“We play against a hard working team,” Tembo told the club’s media department..

“We know Owen’s teams are always hard working, man-marking in all areas of the pitch, so we got to match them on that, in terms of our hard work, we’ve got to work a little bit more off the ball because they run you into the ground if you’re not ready.”

“So I think that’s one thing that we got to try and make sure that we match them and our quality will come out because we’ve got the players to try and play, and I think our previous games we haven’t really dominated possession and we need to try and do that in this game, for us to get a positive result, and as well as move them a lot because when people are man marking, you got to be strong on the ball, you got to move a lot, you’ve got to move them and try and create spaces behind them.”

“And that’s what we’re going to try and do, but I think the main thing is work ethic that’s going to be very key.”
