Dan-Dan Up To 2nd

Orbit College remained top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship, but Baroka are hot on their tails.

Orbit picked up an important 2-1 win over JDR Stars on Friday in a top-of-the-table clash. Hungry Lions, who are also near the top, missed an opportunity however as they drew 1-1 with Milford.

On Saturday, Black Leopards continued their climb up the log with a 3-2 victory over Marumo Gallants. But it was a disappointing loss for early-challengers Maritzburg United, as they lost 3-1 at home to Bushy Moloi’s Pretoria Callies, who moved off bottom place with that result.

Also on Saturday, Platinum City Rovers and Upington City couldn’t be separated and they drew 1-1.

On Sunday Dan Malesela’s revitalised Baroka side jumped into second place as they came from behind to hammer La Masia 4-1.

But there was a slip from Magesi, who drop to third as they drew 2-2 with Casric Stars, with Magesi grabbing a stoppage time equaliser. AmaTuks meanwhile picked up a good win and moved up to sixth as they beat Venda Football Club.
