Marumo Gallants have announced the appointment of Sinky Mnisi as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will play their home games in Bloemfontein this season.
Mnisi returns to football after his acrimonious exit at Royal AM and arrives with a brand new technical team which includes Pitso Dladla and Ronald Moroka.
It comes as a surprise with the experienced administrator going under the radar in recent months.
“I think it’s about time I got back into football, I think I healed enough, I don’t just go to a team, it’s a calling, I go where my ancestors tell me to go,” Mnisi said.
“I’ve had discussions with a number of teams, Maritzburg was one of them, eight games before they were relegated, a number of teams. I won’t reveal but I choose Marumo Gallants as my ancestors said that’s where I need to go.
“Football is my love, my calling, I’m deeply addicted to this and it’s often said one man’s poison is another man’s meat, I’m here today as a chosen one with the sole responsibility of delivering this team back into the Premier division.”
Chairman Abram Sello also confirmed they will use the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium in Free State but their opening games will take place in Vaal due to stadium maintenance.
“We’re in Bloemfontein with the Mangaung Municipality, it’s our home for this season but due to some maintenance issues we will play our first few games at the Vaal University of Technology, we’ll soon be ready with our supporters in Free State.”
