Maritzburg Utd To Appoint Dlangalala’s Successor?

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Maritzburg United could be set to appoint Serbian Vladislav Herić as Zipho Dlangalala’s successor.

Herić, who has been based in Cape Town for many years, is not new to South African football as he led club many clubs before including Maritzburg back in the 2007/08 season.

The 57-year-old coached over 10 teams in South Africa, having also promoted Chippa United in the 2013/14 season when he was assisted by late Roger Sikhakhane.

He has coached Black Leopards, Bay United/Polokwane City, Ubuntu Cape Town, Royal Eagles, Cape Town All Stars, Marumo Gallants and Cape Town Spurs, which was his last role between October 2020 until January 2021.

If Heric comes into the hot seat, he is expected to win promotion to DStv Premiership. The mandate was set for Dlangalala also but things didn’t work out, as he was released on Tuesday.

iDiski Times understands that Herić was in Pietermaritzburg to discuss a possible deal, with the club expected to make a decision later this week.

United will visit Upington City in their upcoming Motsepe Foundation Championship match on Saturday. The Team of Choice is sitting seventh in the league table with 19 points, six points behind table toppers Orbit College.
