Orbit Lead MFC Table Again

Orbit College returned to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship, jumping above Magesi, who had gone top midweek.

This week all clubs played two fixtures, and despite a draw Magesi had climbed above Orbit after the North West team suffered their first defeat.

But on the weekend Orbit went top again, thanks to a last-minute winner against Marumo Gallants. They moved two points clear after Magesi lost to JDR Stars, meaning there are now no unbeaten teams in the second tier.

But there are six teams, including the aforementioned, who have only lost once, including Maritzburg United who won both their games this week to move to second.

They hammered bottom-place Venda Football Club 5-1, which led to Joel Masutha’s resignation, before winning 1-0 away to Platinum City Rovers.

Hungry Lions moved into third thanks to their midweek win over Orbit, while they put four past La Masia on Friday.

Midweek Results:

Milford 1-1 Magesi

Marumo Gallants 1-0 La Masia

Hungry Lions 1-0 Orbit College

AmaTuks 1-0 Pretoria Callies

Maritzburg United 5-1 Venda Football Cub
