Chiefs Star Misses Out On World Cup Squad
Kaizer Chiefs striker Glody Lilepo did not make DR Congo’s final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Lilepo, 28, has made a 11 appearances for the Leopards, with his last coming in a friendly in June 2023. He has remained sidelined by DRC coach Sébastien Desabre, who announced his final 26-man selection on Monday. Meanwhile, Pyramids FC striker Fiston Mayele is the only player based in Africa to make the squad for the tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
