Bafana Winger Promoted In Europe

Bafana Bafana winger Antonio Van Wyk gained promotion to the Austrian Bundesliga with SV Ried. Van Wyk, 23, who played for South Africa at the COSAFA Cup joined Ried from Stellenbosch in September 2024. On Friday, Ried gained promotion after beating SW Bregenz 4-1 – a game where Van Wyk came of the off the bench in 74th minute. Ried now sit on 64 points after 29 games, five more than second-placed Admira with just one game remaining. Overall, Van Wyk has made 17 appearances for Ried, scoring once.
