Davids Secures Win In Mosimane’s Absence

Al Wahda made it two wins from two with Maahier Davids taking charge in the absence of head coach Pitso Mosimane.

Davids oversaw training in mid-week and their 1-0 win over Ajman away from home, with a result that moved them into fifth, five points off league leaders Al Wasl.

It appears there will be a major challenge for the UAE Pro League title this season, with seven points separating 1st from eighth after seven league games.

Argentine forward Facundo Kruspzky netted the only goal of the game for Mosimane’s side in a dramatic encounter that saw the home side ruled out a penalty by VAR and Al Wahda finishing the game with 10 men after a late red card from Khalid Al Zaabi.

Despite recent reports in UAE stating Mosimane will likely be relieved of his duties, this website understands he still retains the faith of the hierarchy and there’s optimism that the project can become a success.

The three-time CAF Champions League winning coach is recovering after being admitted into hospital after suffering a ‘shortness of breath’.
