Newly appointed Young Africans SC head Manqoba Mngqithi is set for a South African contingency technical team.
Mngqithi is one of the most experienced coaches in South Africa, having been the head coach and assistant coach in his career.
The KwaZulu-Natal-born mentor led Lamontville Golden Arrows in their only domestic trophy back in 2009 when they won the MTN8, thumping Ajax Cape Town by 6-1.
Since then, Mngqithi was roped in by Pitso Mosimane as assistant coach, where he won every domestic trophy, including five league titles. He was part of the Sundowns team that won the CAF Champions League in 2016.
The 55-year-old also had a brief stint as Sundowns’ solo head coach before re-joining Arrows.
Six days ago, Tanzanian giants Young Africans confirmed Mngqithi as their new head coach.
Latest information received by this publication states that the CAF Champions League winner is on the verge of being joined by former Nigerian goalkeeper Creg Etafia as their goalkeeper coach, former Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi as assistant coach, Simo Dladla also as assistant coach, and the young Bafana Bafana analyst Yardaan Valodia.
With the Tanzanian league having recently ended, Mngqithi and co are joining a team that has dominated the NBC Premier League in the last five seasons; therefore, the aim is to challenge in the CAF Champions League for them.
