European Clubs Show Interests In Sundowns Duo

Mamelodi Sundowns duo Teboho Mokoena and Aubrey Modiba have attracted interest from clubs abroad, iDiski Times has learnt.

Glyn Binkin, the agent of Modiba and Mokoena revealed that they received enquiries for both Sundowns players.

However, he admitted the offers are little, saying he was not going to submit them to Sundowns because they were going to decline them anyway.

“Both of them in the last couple of months, we have received more interest and it is not the level that Sundowns purchased the players and they will not sell unless they get the right offers,” said Binkin.

“The focus right now is to play for Sundowns and the African Super League [later this year] will give them a different platform again to show what they are capable of doing.

“So that is an exciting initiative coming soon. We will have to know soon what happens.”

While these “little offers” and interests have come to Binkin, he was not sure if Sundowns as an entity have received anything from clubs abroad, especially for Mokoena who was named PSL Footballer of the Season.

“I don’t know if Sundowns have received offers and they haven’t told me, but I have received a lot of interest and I have asked relevant people at Sundowns, giving them an indication on what the clubs can offer to pay,” Binkin continued.

“But I know [those offers], I wouldn’t even take it to Sundowns because they won’t consider them [because they are small]. But I have no doubt in my mind about him [Mokoena] that we will get the right offer at the right time for him.”

Mokoena was heavily linked to KVC Westerlo in the January transfer window in 2022, after the Belgian club submitted an offer to SuperSport. But they were beaten by Sundowns, who snapped the Free State-born player with a fee that Westerlo could not match.

These two clubs are also said to be tussling for the signature of Thapelo Maseko, another player Binkin also represents. Westerlo, whose first offer was rejected by SuperSport, have sent a revised offer to Matsatsanta.

SuperSport will now decide whether or not to accept the improved offer for the 19-year-old Bafana Bafana international.
