Mamelodi Sundowns playmaker Neo Maema looks set to return to Simba SC for the 2026/27 season.
Maema spent last season on loan with a successful spell in Tanzania, initially being lured by then head coach Fadlu Davids.
Steve Barker has since taken charge of the club where Maema continued to flourish but upon his return to Sundowns this off season speculation has been rife on his next move.
Sources have confirmed Maema is keen on returning to the club under Barker as they look to end the dominance of Young Africans in the Tanzanian top-flight and its likely to be finalised in the coming days.
Last season, Maema lifted both domestic cups with Simba – the CRDB Bank Federation Cup and the Muungano Cup.
While he was in and out of the team under Davids, Maema became a regular feature under Barker and made 22 league appearances overall.
Simba return to action on 16 August when the Ligi Kuu Bara will return.
