Stellenbosch FC have officially announced the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Brian Onyango, as first reported by iDiski Times.
Onyango, 30, was one of the players released by Sundowns upon the expiry of his contract in June 2024.
He initially resurfaced at SuperSport United but when Gavin Hunt’s side opted against signing him, Stellies quickly brought the Kenya international on board.
The strong centre-back signed a two-year deal, as first reported by this website.
“Brian is a player who has enjoyed great success during his career and we are looking forward to adding his experience and winning mentality to our squad,” Stellenbosch FC CEO Rob Benadie told the club’s media team.
“He has been brought in to bolster our defensive line and we have no doubt that he will make a valuable contribution towards both our domestic and continental ambitions.”
Onyango becomes the first Kenyan player to represent Stellenbosch FC and will wear the No. 2 jersey this season.
