Ncikazi – I Don’t Think They Are Invincible

Ahead of Friday’s DStv Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates co- caretaker coach Mandla Ncikazi believes it’s possible for Pirates to beat the defending champions.

While essentially this fixture is a top of the table clash, there is a huge gap between Sundowns’ first place and Pirates’ third spot, with a 16 point difference already between the sides.

Sundowns are unbeaten in the league this season, but the former Golden Arrows coach says they may be unbeaten but they aren’t unbeatable.

Ncikazi was speaking after his team’s 1-1 draw against Swallows on Tuesday.

“It’s an uphill battle,” he told the club’s media department.

“You can imagine you play a derby today, and you’re playing the log leaders Sundowns, who are doing very well.

“But Pirates must rise. Sundowns are playing well, they are doing well, but I don’t think they are invincible and immortal.

“It’s possible to beat them, but you have to bring your best game to beat such a good side.”
