Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye was among those happy to see Mamelodi Sundowns captain and midfielder Themba Zwane back in action.
Zwane was a second half substitute in Sundowns’ goalless draw against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League 1st leg semi-final tie at Loftus on Saturday having come from a seven-month long injury.
The 35-year-old sustained an ACL injury on international duty with Bafana Bafana during the AFCON qualifiers in September and the club also showed faith in him by extending his contract prior the Ahly match.
Khanye says for someone who didn’t have match fitness, Mshishi made a difference when he got on the pitch.
“I’m going to compliment three players at Sundowns, number one Mshishi,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.
“I mean the whole season he was out, came into this game without being prepared. There is a thing called match fitness, when you don’t have that sometimes it affects your confidence. Mshishi hardly lost the ball in today’s game, he came into the game as an impact player in a high intensity game.
“You might look at it from far and think it’s easy but Mshishi’s decision making, looking for the ball and dropping. Well done to Mshishi from coming from a long injury.”
