The Premier Soccer League have confirmed the fixtures, venues and dates for the round of 16 in the Carling Knockout Cup, with Mamelodi Sundowns kicking off the tournament.
The draw for the tournament took place on Tuesday after the traditional Carling Black Label Cup was extended to 16 teams, and will take place in the format of the former Telkom Knockout Cup.
It starts with the Round of 16, which includes all 16 DStv Premiership teams, but the top eight were seeded so that they won’t face each other in the first round.
The eight winners of the Last 16 will meet each other in the quarter-finals, with the top four moving on the semis and eventually the new winners will be found in the final.
The CKO champions will then face a team voted for by fans, consisting of six DStv Premiership stars and five DStv Diski Challenge players.
An overall amount of R20.2 million in prize money is up for grabs, with the winners walking away with R6.85 million.
The tournament already kicks off on Wednesday, when TS Galaxy host Mamelodi Sundownsat Mbombela Stadium at 19:30.
It continues on Friday, with Orlando Pirates welcoming Cape Town Spurs at Orlando Stadium at 19:30, while four fixtures take place on Saturday and another two on Sunday.
