Morgan Mammila has confirmed that he has parted ways with Chippa United, as earlier reported by iDiski Times.
Mammila started the season at the Chilliboys as the head coach and led the team to accumulate 18 points from 16 games
But after losing two games in a row against Polokwane City and TS Galaxy in December, which also meant a run of just one win in eight league matches, he was moved into the Technical Director role in January.
He has now parted ways with Chippa, as first reported by iDiski Times and confirmed by Mammila himself to Andile Ncube on Metro FM.
“I’m the only coach to start and finish a season at Chippa United,” he stated.
“I can confirm that me and My friend [Chippa Mpengesi] are no longer working together.
“Me and Chippa United are not working together.”
When asked how he found out about his dismissal, Mammila didn’t want to reveal the name(s) but insisted it wasn’t club chairman, Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi
“Frankly and to be honest, it’s not the chairman who fired me,” he added.
“He’s not the one who fired me, the people who run the club every day thought ‘maybe, let’s take another direction’.”
