Mashego, 24, has been with City since 2020 and developed into arguably the best left-back in South Africa in the Mother City.
In 2019 he was part of the TS Galaxy side that won the Nedbank Cup and he then joined City in a swap deal with Ebrahim Sedat.
He made his Bafana debut against Ethiopia in October 2021 but had picked up a serious injury ahead of the Morocco game earlier in the year and only recently recovered.
He played an instrumental role in the Citizens’ second-placed finish which secured their place in the 2022/23 CAF Champions League, but will now feature in the competition for Sundowns.
