Orlando Pirates and five South Africans have been nominated for various honours in the prestigious 2022 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards.
The awards ceremony which was cancelled due to the novel Covid-19 returns for the first time since 2019, which saw Sadio Mané crowed as the King of African football.

However, this time around in the Men and Women’s category the CAF Inter-Club Player of the Year has returned with African-based talent receiving recognition for their incredible performances.

In the Coach of the Year category, Mandla Ncikazi and Pitso Mosimane have earned the nod for their achievements of taking Orlando Pirates and Al Ahly towards continental finals this season in the Champions League and Confederation Cup.
Percy Tau, Bandile Shandu and Thembinkosi Lorch have also earned nominations for the Inter-Club Player of the Year while 30 nominees were named for the Men’s Player of the Year.
