Pitso Mosimane has revealed what he told his players at half-time in their crucial league fixture on Wednesday night.
The South African saw Al Ahly struggling to score in the first 45 minutes of their 2-1 victory over Wadi Degla.
The ‘Club of the Century’, though, found two quick goals early in the second half, with Mosimane revealing he asked his players to turn their control into goals.
“The difference in performance in the two halves? I don’t want to pretend to be smart and say that we made changes in the second half, the difference is in the effectiveness on goal and we managed to score,” he said in his post-match press conference, as per Kingfut.
“I told the players at half-time ‘please, score goals we want to translate our control’, and after we went 2-0 up, we missed many chances, but we are under pressure and we are human.
“When you are under pressure, you take the wrong decisions.
“We topped the league table, which is the most important thing. Al Ahly must win all the title, that is the spirit of the club.
“A wonderful problem is that you always play to win, and I like the pressure.
“We knew the importance of this match, and we overcame great pressures, injuries, the Olympics, and others.”
Al Ahly jumped to the top of the Premier League after closing a gap over 19 points over bitter rivals Zamalek and matching their points tally of 61 points after 27 matches.
