AmaZulu Captain Compares Chiefs To Sleeping Snake
AmaZulu Captain Makhehleni Makhaula has compared the state of Kaizer Chiefs to that of a sleeping snake, which could awake and bite Usuthu on the weekend.
Benni McCarthy’s men celebrated their first victory of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership campaign last weekend and will be keen to add onto their positive run.
Chiefs, meanwhile, have fallen into a mini-slump, losing two of their last three games.
Makhaula, though, believes Amakhosi will bounce back from their current run and has warned his side to be wary of their opponents on Saturday.
“We can’t underestimate Chiefs because they lost some games,” he told the club’s media department, as cited by Kick Off.
“For us, there’s pressure because we’re playing at home. They’re also under pressure to win. With us, we always have pressure because we finished second last season.
“It’s encouraging, though also dangerous because at times you might think that this is a dead snake, yet it is not and will awaken and get back its bite on you. Once it awakens and bites it makes it difficult.
“Let’s not take them lightly. Don’t you dare say the snake is dead when it is only sleeping and scanning how it will awaken.
“Chiefs’ situation can change quickly and we can become the ones that are now under pressure.”
AmaZulu currently sit in seventh place on the log with six points from five games, while Chiefs only appear in 13th with five points.
