Chippa Announce XI, Royal AM Leave

The PSL promotion/relegtaion playoff between Chippa United and Royal AM doesn’t seem to go ahead of Royal AM has left the Chatsworth Stadium despite initially pitching.

While owner Shauwn Mkhize and CEO Sinky Mnisi had said yesterday that they had no intention of playing in the playoffs while they were in legal battles, the club initially arrived for today’s fixture against Chippa United.

It is the second match of the round-robin playoffs, after Chippa beat Richards Bay 2-1 on Saturday in the opening game of these playoffs that have been mired by controversy.

Chippa announced their starting XI for the game, but Royal AM have seemingly made a u-turn on their intentions to play.

The KwaZulu-Natal outfit who enter the playoffs as GladAfrica Championship runners-up after Sekhukhune were declared champions left the Chatsworth Stadium at around 14:30, SA journalist Robert Marawa confirmed.

Chippa United also confirmed that they have not received a team sheet from Royal AM.
