Jessica – Chiefs Want A Women’s Team

Kaizer Chiefs marketing manager Jessica Motaung has revealed that the club are keen on launching a women’s team as well.

Amakhosi are one of the biggest clubs in the country and there have been many questions as to whether they would also invest into women’s football.

Motaung has now explained that the club are currently strategising about how best to move into the

“Definitely. I think Kaizer Chiefs has to be more than just a football club, it has to be a sporting institution,” she told SportAt10.

“If you look at what’s happening at Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, who seamlessly go into other sporting codes as well, some other North African team as well, but certainly women’s football is very important to us.

“And I want to do it right, I want to make sure, we have all the pieces place and also make sure there is a league, a proper league for all of us to be playing at.

“But I’m certainly very passionate about that.”

“We currently actually in a strategic session around where the club is going with certain things like that and certainly in the next three years we will be looking at that.

“But it’s about finding the right partners as well, because it is a costly endeavour, I mean putting something together like that is very costly.”
