Maart Ready To Give More For Bafana
After his excellent performances at the Cosafa Cup, Sekhukhune United midfielder Yusuf Maart is delighted to be part of the Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Maart, who helped Sekhukhune get promoted from the GladAfrica Championship last season, was one of the standout players in the Cosafa Cup as South Africa lifted the trophy in July.
Now the 26-year-old former Orlando Pirates player has a chance to impress Hugo Broos in the main national team squad, as they prepare to face Zimbabwe and Ghana.
“My reaction was like it was really something amazing for me when I saw my name in the (23 man) squad,” Maart told Sekhukhune’s media department.
“And it’s like, a dream come true. It’s a good feeling. And I appreciated what the Almighty gave me. And I’m very excited to go there and work and put my effort in and everything.
“Basically I have to give the same performance, I have to give more extra because what I gave at the Cosafa Cup was amazing.
“Everyone recognised me and everything, and everyone expected me to be in the 23 man squad. But I have to give the same performance. I have to give them, 120, I have to put my everything in.
“And I think I’ll do my best that I can and the ability what I have.”
