Ramoreboli Pleased With Bafana Win
Bafana Bafana stand-in coach Morena Ramoreboli was delighted with the 4-0 win against Lesotho on Tuesday, that saw Bafana clinch qualification for the Cosafa Cup semi-finals with a game to spare.
Ramoreboli has had to step up to lead the team, after Helman Mkhalele had to be isolated after a positive covid test.
Ramoreboli says that the game plan against Lesotho worked very well, and it was a great performance, that also Victor Letsoalo become the first South African to score a hat trick on debut.
“We had a plan,” Ramoreboli said after the game.
“And I think the plan went well because our boys managed to express themselves correctly within the game plan, and that’s how we managed to get the goals.
“And the other thing, which I think worked for us, was to get an opportunity to analyze and see Lesotho and be able to pick on their weaknesses so that we can plan properly for the match.”
Ramoreboli says it is important for the players to have the right mindset, and they want to use today’s final group game against Zambia to keep the momentum going into the semi-finals.
“Every game has its own demands. And we approach every game as it comes,” he continued.
“And another thing which is very important is to remind our boys that for them to win a match, they must double their efforts every time they are in the field of play.
“And for us to achieve that, we need to show them the importance of getting the three points in each and every game they play. Going into knockout, they should understand that if they don’t win the match, they’re out of the tournament.
“So all those things are preparing us to where we want to go. But what is important is the match that we are going to play against Zambia, which will prepare us for for the semis.”
