The Top Scorers In The DStv Prem So Far
After six rounds of DStv Premiership were played already, here are the top goalscorers of SA’s top flight, including a player who was closely linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
Bradley Grobler won the DStv Premiership Golden Boot last season, having netted 16 goals, but if the start of 2021/22 is anything to go by, we could see a player breaking the 20-goal mark this season.
At the top of the goal scorer’s list this campaign, sits Royal AM striker Victor Letsoalo alongside Peter Shalulile with five goals.
Letsoalo has netted his five in just four games, having scored in all of the last four matches after missing the first two games of the new season.
The 28-year-old was linked with a move to Chiefs during the off-season before he ended up staying with Bloemfontein Celtic after they were taken over by Royal AM.
Shalulile, too, netted his five goals in his last four matches, having drawn blanks in Mamelodi Sundowns first two DStv Premiership games.
A trio of three players, namely SuperSport’s Thamsanqa Gabuza, Stellenbosch’s Judas Moseamedi and Sekhukhune United’s Chibuike Ohizu follow in joint third position within touching distance of the top duo.
The three above-mentioned have netted three goals apiece so far.
If Letsoalo and Shalulile would keep up their current rate of scoring and avoid injuries, they could both end up scoring 25 goals this season, which would make for a very exciting DStv Premiership campaign.
