Truter – Why Gamildien’s Chiefs Move Broke Down

Brandon Truter has revealed why Ruzaigh Gamildien’s move to Kaizer Chiefs broke down after the Swallows FC striker scored a brace against Orlando Pirates.

Gamildien scored a brace against the Buccaneers to eliminate the defending champions from the MTN8 cup and was voted Man of the Match for his fine performance.

After the game, Truter praised Gamildien for being in the right head space after his Chiefs’ move didn’t materialise.

“He’s in a better space. I think last season, towards the end, when the news broke in the media that he might be going to Chiefs and there were talks that he will be joining them as well, it disturbed his rhythm.,” he said after the game.

“The deal fell through basically because I think the duration of the contract and what Chiefs were offering.

“I’m just happy for our chairman to also step in and better the deal here at Swallows. That brought stability.

“I think once a player is stable and the coach is happy with him, the players around him value him so much. The family atmosphere at Swallows is huge and Gamildien is part of that family. He also plays a part in keeping the atmosphere going.

“A stable player, a happy player will perform like this and I’m just happy for him.”
